This could be his son Adam, but it is for sure one of them as the surname Cavit is Adam the son's wife's maiden name and she had a brother named Samuel Cavit.

From the information I could gather, the Potter Surname came from England, I am still researching but I have found them coming from England to Massachusetts and then Rhode Island and Pennsylvania. 

Adam J. Potter is my 4th Great-Grandfather on my Maternal side.
