Sarah Louisa Clendendon was born 10 May 1855 in Barnesville, OH to Stephen Clendendon (1833-1913) & Matilda Dawson (1837-1857). She never knew her mother, and was raised by her step mother. She also had many half siblings.
In 1872 in Ohio she married Robert Russell Wood (1846-1915) They had 10 children.
