They moved to Pleasant, Fairfield, OH by 1842 and then to Junction City, Geary KS in 1866 where he built a hardware store. After Anna's death in 1882 he married Almira H. unknown. Four children were born to this union. By the time of the 1860 census in Fairfield, OH he had changed the spelling of his name from Amick to Emick.
