My Thornton Relatives

My Great Grandparents John Edgar Robertson & Mary Ursula Becker had 10 children and of these children their daughter's Louise Cecelia Robertson & Marie Margaret Robertson married brothers, Edward Joseph Thornton & Alphonse James Thornton.

Lousie Cecelia Robertson was born on 10 Sep 1898 in Sioux City, Woodbury,Iowa She died 21 Feb 1971 in Des Moines, IA. She was called Lula. A lovely lady.

Funeral was at St. Theresa Catholic Parish in Des Moines, IA. She married 3 Sep 1917 in Sioux City, IA to Edward Joseph Thornton. He was born 29 Sep 1892 in Hubbard, Nebraska. To Edward James Thornton & Ellen Louise O'Conner. He died 3 July 1974 in Sioux City, IA. They had 6 children.

Marie Margaret Robertson was born 12 Aug 1899 in Sioux City, IA and married Alphonse James Thornton on 24 Nov 1915 in Sioux city, IA. She died 9 March 1989 in Sioux city, IA. He was born 4 Sep 1889 in Hubbard, NE and died 26 Apr 1959 in Sioux City, IA. He loved baseball, listened to the games on the radio and managed a local team. Swore a lot and had a veggie garden for canning. She had curly hair, she cut them all off when she was small. Her father called her "Dolly" she was the baby longer than any of the other children as 2 boys passed away between her and brother Clyde. She had 10 Children.
