Military Monday


George Edgar Robertson Served in WWI. He enlisted May 8, 1918 in Sioux City, Iowa (Camp Dodge). e was in the Battle St. Mikeil a.e.f. 2nd Lt Inf. He was discharged on December 9, 1919. he was mustered gassed.

He recieved the Silver Victory Button. WWI vintage Silver Victory Buttons as awarded to those who had been wounded in action and were recipients of the wound chevron. "The silver Victory Button for wounds received in action will be issued only upon evidence of such wound or wounds as shown on the discharge certificate of enlisted men or certificate of discharge of officers." from Army Regulations as amended 17 Septmeber 1918. In 1932 the Purple Heart was authorized and recipients.
