Jane probably came to the US in the 1770s. She is said to have carried messages during the revolutionary war. She and her son James Weir were mentioned in her father's will in 1794. Her husband died in 1797, and she remained a widow for 56 years. In 1849 when she was 94, she applied for a revolutionary war widow's pension but was denied because she could not satisfactorily prove her marriage or her husband's service. She passed away in 1853 leaving a will in Fairfield County.
Jane died 17 Jan 1853 Laurens, South Carolina
