Moses Cavet: Died at the Battle of King's Mountain

Moses Cavet my 6th great Uncle, was born 1734 in Scotland and came to America in 1750 with his father and 3 brothers. He was married to Agnes.

The Battle of Kings Mountain was fought on 7 Oct 1780 and was a Patriot victory over the Loyalist in South Carolina. It made a huge turning point in the Southern campaign of the America Revolutionary War. Moses fought and died from wounds received in this battle, he was a Major. He passed on 17 Oct 1780.

There were about 900 Patriot militia, who launched a surprise attack, from hill on all sides with the order to "shout like Hell and fight like devils." This was the first major setback for the British. Today this sight is preserved as Kings Mountain National Military Park. Commemoration the role in American Independence.
